RE: Unknown Dividing Head - Sunset Machine - 02-04-2016 I don't know what brand it is, but it looks to be a somewhat standard design patterned after an older B&S by the looks of the trunion locks. It's a universal, which needs to be geared to a lead screw on a universal mill to be useful. With some trouble it can be used in conjunction with a tilted vertical spindle for spiral work, tho setup is more difficult. Sans universal mill, consider trading that valuable head for a plain one and pocketing the change. Were you looking for general info, or just gathering up some history? RE: Unknown Dividing Head - rotorhead - 02-04-2016 I was hoping for general info, maybe some help dismantling through the aid of a manual, should that become necessary. There isn't an output on my miller, other than taking off the left-hand micrometer dial, and securing whatever gear to the leadscrew shaft. I haven't that sort of knowledge or skill or need anyway. I'm fairly OK with general self taught machining, have a look at these vids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfZpBsZ_tDc 2nd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z3h4dHX-H0 |
