Damn straight it was tongue in cheek Big Grin

Thanks for the comments - your help has been invaluable in getting it to this stage.  In fact, had it not been for this place I would have struggled to get to this stage - so thank you everyone.

Now - in all my excitement, I left my indicators in my other shop, so neither the head, not the vise are trammed.  However, that didn't stop me from trying to make some chips.

I did attack a piece of scrap steel with a HSS end mill.  Nothing too strenuous, a .015" cut with a 5/8" HSS endmill under hand crank (the gearbox has reverted back to its old issues - I'm going to have to investigate further).

I need to make a 1/2-12 and a 1/2-13 drawbar, so I can use the rest of my tooling.

Darren, you may find it mills better just using half the diameter of the end mill rather than the full diameter. Smile

It seems so trite to just say "Nice work Darren". You have put blood, sweat and tears into this project for years and it seems like there should be an official celebration now that it's complete. Someone should at least bake a cake for crying out loud! Anyway, it's great to see the old girl back in fighting form and congratulations on your achievement.

Thanks guys. There is still a lot of work to do to get everything running properly but at least I can use it now Big Grin

Dave - I'll keep that in mind but I was just playing and I need to tram everything.

Tom - I did think about cracking a bottle of champagne on her but I couldn't bare the thought of wasted alcohol or the scratches the broken glass would cause. Instead, I cracked open a beer and sat back and smiled Big Grin

Well done Darren. Don't know how you managed to stick with it, pretty sure I'd have said enough, long ago. Have a beer for me too.

Thanks Dave - as I said before, I wouldn't have gotten this far in this time frame if it hadn't been for the membership here, who have given their knowledge and advise so freely. Every comment has been helpful, no matter how small or whether it was said in jest or just words of encouragement.
