Man, I hate prints like that which don't give the dimensions from a datum to the center of a milled radius. I'd be willing to mill some of those parts for you on my 2-axis CNC, but to do it I'd have to draw the prints on my DraftSight software and add those dimensions.

BTW, I noticed on the Detail 11 for the pins that they specified a ".31R" of the ends of a Ø.192" pin. Is that a crowned surface they want or did they want a 0.031" corner radius?

Finally got my hands greasy today.
A chap stopped in with a butterfly valve that shuts off the air to a 2000 cf. compressor. It was sticking closed, the bottom pivot was worn, needed bored out and bushed. BUT the mill wasn't tall enough so I finally installed the 10 inch riser I bought 4 or 5 years ago. Once again the overhead crane came to the rescue, but it was holding the head so had to man handle the riser up there by hand.

Then had to use some ingenuity to get the housing clamped.

Made up a pin to fit the lower busing, centered the table to it then moved the top around to centre it.

Thanks for the offer Ken but most all of the parts are made now its all the little details like sanding and sanding some more then some more sanding. I got the barrel profiled tonigh into and Octagon to match the Winchester profile.

What your looking at in detail 11 is the pins that connect the finger lever, the connector link and the Block together and my guess from looking at the original prints and this is that the pins have a slight rounded end on them, but I will probably use dowel pins cut to length.

Now were did I lay the sand paper at.

David,

Now I see what you were doing. That pocket was probably cast in the original, but I would probably approximate it with a small end mill going in from the side. It wouldn't take much to clear that link. A small corner radius would also be good to keep it from cracking at during heat treat.

what I did today

after looking at the cost of sand paper I figure if I shorten the barrel to around 5 inches I can save a butt load of money and shorten the build time to about 1 month instead of half a year for all the sanding that long barrel will require.

Ok just joking who wants to shoot something with that short of a barrel chamber in something like a 45/120 anyway.

So new photos of work so far.

The boss in his office, you can tell he's working cause he's been cleaning his paws on my grease rag.

The better photo of the pipe and receiver laid out on the tailgate, damn things too long to get a decent close up

Marks left from the mill table being .5 inches too short

Marks removed

Work on the finger lever narrowing it down some

its the sand paper that will likely drive me insane on this project. Drool Drool Drool  as if I wasn't already crazy as a loon to of even started this Bash

trying to go slow and not bugger it up too bad, I don't  want it to look like I'm the one that made it

David,

Is that a Green Mountain barrel blank?

Yes I got it from GM, long story about the blank which I won't go into here. But it is a 45 caliber used to be 36 inches long barrel from GM. I cut it down to 30 inches so it would fit on the mill I used to profile it with.

I did some more file work on the barrel today, and worked on the sear so that it engages the hammer like it should (I think) won't know for sure until the main spring is in place to put pressure on the two parts.

had some fun drilling the hole for the sear pin last night when it decided to locate its self in the edge of he slot for the sear spring as you can see in this not so very clear photo the two shiny spots are were the drill came thru the very edge of the slot. The sides of the slot couldn't of been and 1/8 of and inch higher, anyway its on the inside so only people that will know is me and
[Image: sear-pin-hole.jpg]

The sear pinned in place had to do a ton of filing on it and the hammer to get them to work together, now just have to wait until the spring is in place. Sear spring is working ok anyway it hasn't broken yet which is saying a lot since I made it from a hunk of trailer spring off a car hauler trailer.

then there is the out of focus shot of me sanding on the finger lever. Damn but you would think a 1000 dollar camera would take a better photo then that, hell it should at least focus its self.
