Yes, I've seen that Dave and it's a great idea. Now if I could just talk Darren into coming over again and entering the data I'd be all set. Thumbsup

He was here long enough to drink my beer, but not long enough to put to work. Slaphead

It would be great, I have it on my computer if only I could get it to work. tom

That's another one of those projects that I got started on and it got put on the back burner. I really need to revisit it. Darren did such a great job writing that software it would be a shame not to take advantage of it.

Tom, don't give up on it just yet. We should be able to figure out the problem for you.

Sheeze, that's my life story. I wonder what the Guinness record is for the number of back burner projects? I'll bet I'm close. Big Grin
Although I have been making some progress lately. Blush
Now that I have finished putting up a larger outside storage shed, I have been able to move a lot of the clutter out of the basement (my "shop") and actually have a little room to work in again. I was going to move the original single phase motor from my lathe out to the shed for storage as it has just been sitting on the floor of the basement getting in the way. It was working fine when I removed it from the lathe (or so I thought). When I picked up the motor by the shaft I was surprised it didn't want to roll over on me. 17428
Yep, the shaft was frozen. I worked it back and forth a bit by hand and it broke free and spun, but it felt a little gritty. Smiley-signs131
So once again the other projects get put on hold to tear down the motor and replace the bearings. No point in saving a motor for a rainy day if it has bad bearings in it.

Yesterday I noticed (as the primer coat was drying Slaphead ) that I forgot to address a couple of issues with my new motor mount for my band saw. I had to set up the mount in the mill and extend the adjustment slots a bit to get a little more travel out of the motor. Since I shortened the mount I only had about an inch of adjustment available. Just extending the slots by a half inch will help quite a bit for clearance to move the belt for speed changes. I also forgot to install a mounting bracket for holding the belt guard. So I just cut the bracket off of the original mount and welded it to the new one. After sanding off the new primer I just sprayed on of course. Bash
The finish coat is drying now.... Smile

While I'm waiting for the paint to dry I'm moving on to winterizing my lawn equipment. Need to sharpen the blade on the mower and replace the bald drive wheels (again). Stupid plastic "tires" only last about one season before the tread disappears. Rant

I ordered 4 new ones on ebay to keep on hand as spares. When the package arrived I set it in the house and continued on doing whatever I was doing at the time. Then I noticed a really foul odor. I traced it back to the package and had to open it up. Big mistake.....

The stench that came out of that box was 10 times worse than the smell of Chinese rubber in a Harbor Freight store in August. I don't know what is in the plastic in those wheels, but it stinks to high heaven! Bleh
The open box now lives outside in the yard to air out until I can get to within 3 feet of it.

Now, what was I supposed to be working on again? 17428 17428 17428

Tom G does make good beer and I would have been more than happy to have given him a tutorial on the database.

Tom R - I plan to borrow a friends laptop with Office 2010 on it to try the database and see if I can solve your problem.

Willie, Re: that stinkin plastic:

I have to seriously wonder WHAT is in that plastic AND if it is harmfull to ones health!!?

sasq, I'd venture that we don't have to worry about the toxicity of the stuff that stinks, it's the stuff we can't smell that could be killing us.
