Possibly both screws are being tightened at the same time? That would explain the link.

you got it . both the bolts that screw into the casting are pushing agianst the gib they only need half a turn or less to be tight or loose the link lets you snug them both at the same time and it replaces 2 little toggles the used to be there . and adjusting those little toggle bolts always guarantees a black greasey mark on the back of your hand .

Quick answer as i known this is not the right place for this issue.
When adding an additional attachment ie second image, I get an error message saying image has the same file name as previous image. This is not the case so I have to include only 1 image per posting.
I had a whole Bridgeport restoration thread planned put with this posting of images issue I have I think I will Pass.

Vinny and Mayhem,
On these machines, there are two screws that apply pressure to the gib in order to lock the Y-axis. As they come from the factory, you have to tighten both to lock the table. The two arms joined by the horizontal link turn both of the new bolts at the same time, applying locking pressure that is better than the original arrangement.

I'm getting down on the old project list, so now I'm ticking off the little ones I've been leaving for some time. Yesterday, I finally got a stock support built for the horizontal bandsaw. I picked up a pair of small rollers at Restore last year and dug a 1" thick disk out of stock. That's as far as I got back then. Simple enough. Weld a small disk on a 3/4" nut, weld a piece of 3/4" pipe to the base, attach the roller to the threaded rod. Done and used twice already.

The second item off the list was a simple stop for the 6" vise I picked up last summer for the Victoria mill. The small block behind the stop is what I cut out with bandsaws to save a LOT of milling.
