Hi
Lads
I have been buisy making a newZ axis screw for my mill
I have had problems with the screw bending the deeper the threads are cut
The traveling steady Boxford supplied is totally useless for the job intended
It is just something to put in the cupboard with the rusty change wheels
Before i scrap any more stainless round bar i will make a new steady
It will be a bronze casting (aluminium is not strong enough and cast iron takes to much melting)
On with the pictures
Wood patern
The Boxford item showing SLOTTED mounting holes
It ends up in the middle of no where
I hope to get it cast this week end
John
