Darren, if you want a planer gauge my dad has one and I have one, we'll never need two. I'll get both of them out and take photos one of these days, he can choose which one he wants to keep.

Sasq, not really, I cleared the snow that fell Sunday night yesterday morning. What we've been having is horrendous winds. I'm glad we're quite sheltered in the woods here. Some open areas have had drifting and whiteouts though.

The boat is a Moody 34 ,
the base engine is a BMC 1500 used in Austin cars and vans, It was converted by Thornycroft . Bowman is the name of the heat exchanger mfrs It has glow plugs because it is a anti chamber type diesel, and cold starting can be a problem, I will be happy to go further into this if you want?? The problem is the engine injection pump leaked fuel into the motor eventually leaking into the bilges from the oil seals. As i do not know how long the motor has been running with ultra thin oil. I have decided to strip / inspect and change rings and bearings At sea you cant get out and walk home, and sometimes this motor is asked to run for 3 days at a time , so caution is best. Progress today Engine is out of its "Hole" and into the passageway, It was a struggle, no room even for one person. but with leavers --wood-- and wedges you can do a lot. Pics to follow I havent uploaded them from the camera yet. Back soon Brian |
