I don't worry too much about hail until it gets to the size of golf balls then it will hurt ya. have seen it big as baseballs

Here's a pic of one we went through in Nebraska in 2002
Roofs were being punctured and I heard of one room in a house that was so damaged the room had to be completely stripped to the studs. Hail stones broke a picture window sending glass shards into the carpet, the furniture, and the drywall. More pics are available on line. https://www.google.com/search?q=nebraska...B640%3B480

Dave, it was 75 or 80 degrees outside at the time. It didn't last an hour.
