Project Lathe bit holder.
#1
My version of a tool-post bit holder for my 6" Atlas and 12/24 Grizzly lathes. Both have worked well for me ,as I don't have a need for a quick-change tool-post for the work that I do. The Atlas holder split was not needed for it to clamp.

Very similar to one I had made for my mini lathe many years ago. Not quite as sophisticated as yours and eventually I put an AXA on it. If I still have what's left of it, and can find it, I'll take some pics. For those wondering how I got an AXA to fit on a mini lathe, I removed the compound and put a piece of t-slot from an LMS micro mill cut down and in its place.

I plan on removing the compound and replacing it with a chunk of cast iron that my OXA QCTP will sit on. Should increase the rigidity of the machine.
