Mike, I had a buddy with a Contender chambered in .30-30. He let me try it out one day. One shot was enough for me - big fireball and very sore hand. I'd never thought of a .30-30 as being much of a cartridge until that day (although I'd briefly owned a Winchester 94 in the 'sixties).
