Is forward reverse mechanical or done by reversing the motor? If its mechanical try reversing the motor. The direction its turning in the video has the idler being pulled away from the selector gears by the rotation of the long gear. If that makes any sense.
Sorry I see you figured out the clutch. Didn't read enough of the middle posts.
