Arbalest, I like your gauge. Looks good, easy to use. It wouldn't work on my lathes, though. Neither one has that nice flat area on the back of the carriage.
I spent last evening starting the design for a tangential toolholder for the big lathe. I'll have to take a good look at yours to see if I should tweak mine for easier construction.
