The blanks are 1/16" and are cut together, so its only one set up.

While I am waiting for the pinion wire to arrive, I have made a start on the plates.
Because the clock plates ETC will blue steel the clock now has a name (Dark Lady) and what better shape for the ends of the plates than the Ace of spades.

Looking good Brian! I like the idea of the blue steel plates, although you may need to nickel plate the brass stuff to maintain the dark lady allure.

For today's offering i made the posts that hold the plates apart. The top post has to have a cross drilling to take a brass bush so a flat was filed in the lathe using the fileing rest, and marked out for drilling.
