Thanks for the nice comments. The machines started slow in the garage around '95. I would pick up older machines and when I had time worked on learning to restore them. The little Hardinge cataract mill was first, then the 2nd op Hardinge lathe.. then the Hardinge TL. A helpful book when learning to scrap is called "Machine Tool Reconditioning". Here are pics from the house garage shop that was getting tight.

Toolcat, you must have scraping down to a science. Anyone I know who's tried scraping a machine ending up spending years on just one machine to do it right. You have several lifetimes worth of scraping completed in those photos! Very impressive! I can't do this thread justice, but when I get home I'll snap some pics of my little shop.
