Pixman, the inserts were $45 for a pack of 10. I thought the same as you when I first looked at them. The same or equivalent insert from other vendors was about the price you quoted for the Walter.
When I ordered the tool holder, I forgot to order the inserts, and promptly e-mailed CTC to add them to my order. They totally ignored the e-mail and I had to order them separately. I posted on multiple forums looking for 1 or 2, but all that replied said they had bigger inserts, none that would fit my tool.
I bought this set mainly to have an easier to use flycutter, haven't tried it in that roll yet.
