Metal spinning is somewhere on my list of 'one day' things. I was watching a guy making light fitting components on a purpose-built metal spinning lathe about 20 years ago, he made it look like there was nothing to it. Offered me a go, and I split one of his blanks in two straight away. I think it would be one of those things where once you have the knack it would be easy enough, but might take a while to get the feel. You seem to have got the hang of it pretty quickly.
