I used to have a copper hammer that held the copper block on with a stud just like yours... But... after a bit of use the head would forever come loose and I found that the thread soon stripped out of the copper, so I drilled and tapped a bigger hole... twice... it got silly, so a bit later I bought a "Thor" brand copper and hide hammer (Actually it came in the boot/trunk of an MG B that I bought with wire wheels a soft faced hammer is the wheel brace/Lug wrench) the Thors just use a little copper "Puck" or rolled hide disk that pushes into a counter bore, with use the puck spreads into the counter bore so it never works loose, the pucks are available cheaply and in at least 4 materials, if you get this problem try counter boring the face and fitting these instead.
Yours looks a good hammer and of course a very handy solution, Incidentally I now have a half dozen of the Thor hammers one in every size and two of the baby ones. One copper/hide and one Ally/Nylon. I bought a high end "dead blow" hammer from "Snap off" and it just doesn't work as well as the Thors, or feel as good in the hand.

Curious they don't offer brass faced hammers. Copper and aluminum but no brass.

Thor is a relatively old brand,
Not so long ago brass and bronze hammers were heavily frowned upon as they are not good materials when impact is applied, that is, they tend to splinter, and the splinters are just hard enough to give rolling bearings serious issues, of course the splinters also splinter, so more trouble, this will be why Thor doesn't make brass/bronze pucks.

Incidentally I personally use the hickory handled, Malleable iron headed, Copper/hide hammers, but yes Thor has a big range of top quality hammers.

Finally getting some time back in the shop and it feels good. I'm working on the cocobolo handle inserts. I've been using the hammer as-is but the sharp edges are tough on my delicate skin.
