Ed,
Well that's not a nice thing to happen. I wonder if something wasn't held so tight that it moved.
Like you say .020" cut isn't a heavy cut.

Dave,
I don't think it was held tight enough in the screwless vise.

I think you are right - still scary with only a .020" cut.

OK, back on track with this project. Got the block milled and ready for the dovetail cutter. Now I just need to find it. I haven't used it in years so it may be quicker to just order one.

Lookin good so far!!
(Now,, where did i put that darned thing, i know i saw it awhile ago?) Lol
Well, this project is on hold again. I found the dovetail cutter but it's too small for the job so I'll need to purchase a larger one. It's always something.
Ed
You don't need a dovetail cutter you need a shaper. Just ask SteveC

I'd much rather have a shaper, and I will, one day.
Ed
OK, the project is back on. I received the dovetail cutter today. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be made in Japan just like the smaller one I bought many years ago. This means I should be able to finish up the project this coming weekend. Another one off my list.
