A friend who is into bicycle racing asked me to make an adaptor to fit a later style headstem and handlebars to his older style frame. The later type use a larger diameter and the older type has the wedge lock that I'm familiar with from my childhood. He got hold of a big lump of 4140 steel, I managed to convince him that this might be a bit on the heavy side Yikes
Picked up a lump of 6061 and made this.
   
   

Payment was a big lump of 4140 Big Grin

Ha, nice payment. Whenever I do steel fabrication for friends, I tell them I get the drops, and direct them to the local cheap Chinese metal place where they only sell 20' sticks. :)

Two hold a 2 x 4 crosswise target hang in between ..

My brother needed to add adjustable handlebars to his bike. The old ones were 7/8" diameter, but the new ones are 1", so the mounting plate and clamps were too small. I threw together a new plate and set of clamps. Not all today, but finished today. It would have been done long before now if I had my CNC mill back up and running. Soon, I hope.

Been too hot and humid to open the machine shop doors, so I finally screened in the veranda, been on the list for years.
Sat out there in heaven last night, not one mosquito bite.

That is a great job on the veranda. You must be at least 300 years old to have all the knowledge you have.

What about an all expense paid trip to Europe, car to drive around, free lodging and food. You could do some of the projects my wife has been after me to do that involve wood. You would even get paid real money. And you could ride our horses in the Black Forest where we live. (but only after you finish the projects)!!

Nice job Greg.

Screens are a must have anywhere North of the 45th. around here. I'm working on a design for a new place Up North and a substantial screened in porch is a given.
