Are we ready?
Today's delivery, actually from USPS (US Postal Service), not UPS (Useless Parcel Service) was six tools I bought off a single eBay seller for a grand total of $66.75 US including shipping.
Two Data Flute brand 3 flute solid carbide end mills, one Ø 3/32" and one Ø 1/8" both with 3/8" length of cut. Coated with (I think) zirconium nitride for aluminum. $8.00 each
One Accupro 4 flute solid carbide Ø .125" solid carbide end mill with 1" length of cut. I've had a couple of kobs where one of these would have been convenient, probably never need one again now that I have one. (Murphy's Law, Chapter 22, paragraph 4) $12.50
One Morse Tool HSS 3/16" corner radius cutter, Ø 3/4" shank, four flute. I already have the 1/16", 1/8". 1/4", and 3/8", trying to fill in the in between sizes with quality tools. The others were a kit my dad bought from Enco, all Ø 3/8" shanks and made in China. I hope to find more US made good ones at this price, $14.45
One Alford Polk HSS Ø .2495" chucking reamer, also made in USA, never used from what I can tell by looking close. $12.80
One Titex A4711-19.7 HSS MT2 taper shank drill, Ø 19.7mm, used but resharpened nicely. This will be perfect for the next time I need to have a Ø 20mm reamed hole, which should be never now that I have it. (Murphy's Law, Chapter 23, paragraph 2) $11.00
From another seller, the only one that wasn't a "Buy It Now" option. I had one other bidder against me, starting bid of $0.99. It closed at $22.50 for ten Walter CCGT32.50.5-PF2 (ISO designation CCGT09T302-PF2) in grade WN10. This is the very best chipbreaker and grade you will EVER find for finishing cuts on aluminum, and the WXN10 being a nano-layer TiCN coating it can also cut nearly any other material (at lower cutting speeds.) These have an .008" (0.2mm) corner radius.
Funny thing is, I don't (yet) own a single turning tool or boring bar which takes this size & shape insert. I would like to share my good fortune with my friends here who DO have holder(s) for them, and need something that breaks a chip in aluminum. All I ask it that you cover my costs, limit two per person for the first 8 pieces. I'm keeping two in case I come upon a deal for a holder. PM me or email me for making arrangements if you want a couple.
P.S. - So sorry about the orientation of some of the photos. They were all taken with my phone and uploaded to Photobucket. There I rotated all to horizontal and they looked right, but still getting this crap.
