If your parting tool insert was of the 'R' spec the pip would be left on the scrap and the part would be finished if you are dead nuts on centre, thus saving a second op.

I missed this part altogether, what are these vials good for ?

Are they liquid tight ?

We just make the parts. What they are used for, I do not know.

This customer of ours makes forensic test equipment.
