Thanks a lot Ed, I will be wiring the rest of the stepper tonight and will wire up the ENA+ - at the same time. It is odd that I have never seen or heard mention of wiring up these on the internet? I guess once a machine is converted it really is never used in manual mode again..

Shawn
I got the E-stop and the x axis wired up this afternoon. Tomorrow I will instal limit switches and hopefully actually have a go at cutting something. I found a short G-code file online and couldn't resist running it on the mill. Had my hand on the E-stop the first time through but luckily it wasn't needed. I also bought the Mill Pro version of Dolphin Cam/Cad today.

sounds like your having a lot better luck then I am, nice to see movement on your machine.

Something crashed and now none of my motors run and one of the drivers doesn't have a power light on it.

That sucks Dallen, I hope you get it sorted soon. What sort of mill are you converting? I haven't even cut anything with the mill and I'm already thinking about a small cnc lathe.
scratch building a CNC Router with a table top of about 22 X 30 inches. with my luck I'll turn the damn things back on this morning and it will work, There was no shorts or any thing so I have no idea what with belly up.

I' post a photo of it in a thread of its own,

Pictures would be great Dallen. If I didn't already have the X2 I would have built a cnc router. Now that I have the x2 cnc I might look into building a larger router.

here's a shot of the electrical panel, I rewired the control wires last night to make sure I didn't have any broken wires or such.

Nice work Shawn. I love your emergency stop button - it looks almost as big as the mill in the video Big Grin
Thanks Mayhem, the learning curve is a bit steep but I'm enjoying every minute. I figured if I needed the stop button I didn't want to be looking for it, just as long as I don't set the mill on it I think I'm good. Rotfl

Shawn
Finally set up and ready to cut something. I'm hoping to design and cut a part tonight.
