Those two rectangular things are parts made from CRS and zinc plated. I'm not sure I'll find a use for them but one never knows so I grabbed them. The rod is just a piece of SS shafting.

Ed - I've always been a big believer in grabbing (almost) anything that is going to be binned. The way I look at it is that if I can't use it, I can probably give it to someone else who can (and then they owe me a favor!). If worse comes to worse, I can always throw it in my scrap bins (if it is metal) or in the bin.
It's better that I bin it than someone else...
