Some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug.

Maybe next time I'll pay more attention to what I'm doing.

Be on the safe side, order two. Chapter 32, paragraph 3A of Murphy's Law states that if you have a spare you will not need it but if you have NO spare....

Good luck!
Yep, that is correct. And 3B says that if you go up a ladder to put in two screws, bring three (or four).

That's right, because sometimes you will get one with the head on upside down. Smiley-think005

And take multiple screw drivers of varying styles with you to fit Phillips, straight, and Torx headed screws.  Never know if all your screws have the same type of head.  Don't bother to ask how I know that. BTW, brand new straight out of the box. :(

Does anybody besides me remember the Three Stooges skit?

Curly is throwing away every other nail. Moe asks him why, and Curly says the head is on the wrong end. Moe smacks him and tells him not to throw them away, they're for the other side of the room...  Rotfl

I think I recall that, but I got the joke while working on a roof with an old Carpenter; a funny guy indeed.  Smile
Today I had to machine some aluminum for part of a test fixture I'm making for work. The mill must be in tram this time since I got that nice cross-hatch pattern. I used the same tool as I used on that 1018 when I made my first chips with the mill. I was taking .040" depth of cuts. It sure is nice to be able to take that much off per pass. My old mill would have maxed out .015" and complained about it.

I'm betting you could double or triple that depth per pass if you had a mind to!

Looks great, Ed. Congratulations on getting to this point.

With the right inserts I think that would indeed be possible. I'm definitely getting more comfortable with the mill and have started pushing it a bit to see what she can do.
