I got apriximately 7 to 8 hours so far, but dont forget that I had rotating plates to begin with.
I was hoping for feedback on the PDF file I posted previously, the graduations on the Dial and the vernier.. 40=1 ratio would this method of marking work.

Nice work as usual Claude, I missed the post with the numbers. Beautiful job. Your dial and vernier looks like it should work fine, but for myself I prefer decimal degrees, (personal choice), When Im working with angles its usually off a self inflicted drawing which come out in decimals, would have to then convert to minutes and seconds. As for thinning the base I'd hold off till the rest is designed, you may want the thickness for threading, also thinning the base will reduce the bearing area of the center pivot.
Free advice is worth exactly what you payed for it.

Claude,

I looked at the PDF file when you posted it but really wasn't sure what I was looking at so didn't feel qualified to comment. Maybe someone with more knowledge of rotary tables will be able to help you with that.

Yeah I looked at the PDF but don't understand it so I had no input. It looks to me like your graduations on the table are slightly more than 1/16" but I have no idea how that relates to anything so I didn't want to lead you in the wrong direction. It looks great though, the numbers came out flawlessly!
