Its cool watching the machine work, almost as good as watching a shaper.

I have done a bit of work on my mill. The bracket that attaches to the head was slipping a little when the direction changed, no matter how tight I turned the three cap head bolts. I decided to just add another bracket, that seems to have worked. I also rigged up an airline for blowing chips out of the way. It does a great job of cooling the end mill as well, I tried it in some aluminium with no WD40 and it worked well.

Big Grin well I hope you guys can squint hard enough too see this video? I found a really cheap, retro controller on EBay for my mill. I tried a regular joystick previously but it was way to bulky for the control panel I have planned. It looks like an old Atari joystick but comes with a standard USB plug.

COOL, wonder if that would work with my system. Would be great for moving to the corner of the sheet or where I want to start the cut. With mine the interface is through the serial and parallel ports.

It would work for sure, I am running the joystick through a small app that comes packaged with Mach3. I can remember the name of the program but it is in the root Mach3 folder and has a smiley face icon. The joystick is seen like any other HID device on your computer.
