I say that because I've owned an RF-45 clone mill for about 8 years now and there's no way in hell I could ever take that deep of a cut in steel. Just my opinion based on experiences with my mill.  Smiley-gen163

YMMV

Ed if ya dont mind me askin so how much DOC were ya were you able to take off in mild a steel?
and than something w/ a harder grade ?
yea i think the pm932 is in same class as RF-45 clone no?

all i know is as far as milling /hogging material nuttin to compare with cuz the only mills i have worked on either manual Bridge port basic end mills and Only worked on $2.5 million (Waldrige Coulberg) CNC MILL on Lathe bed . ( helical milling) Used 8" shell cutters filled 50 gal drum in 15 min worth of hogging .
Now on that machine taking a cut all you would hear is dup dup dup dup at the cutter and or smooothe ying ying ying "ying" Stood on a moving platform looking through the glass as ya heard chips flying and the coolant splashing the shield . No problem .2-.4 with %75-80% depth of insert .

Maybe im maybe expecting more than i thought i can do with this mill Btw... I was primarily a lathe hand back in my days
Now as far as the TNMG CNMGs style inserts i have taken .150-.250 cut used to turn down 8-10 Diameter shafts no problem on a lathe with same inserts/ Grades ,cant see why ya cant take ..040

Kenny,

I'm able to take from .010" - .020" DOC, depending on the steel.
Yes, your mill is in the class of an RF-45 mill. It looks very similar to mine. Most RF-45 clone mills look pretty much the same. There are a couple of RF-45 clones on steroids though.
