I'll be making a Mayhem forge! Right now it all goes into a hibachi (barbeque).
Particularly interesting to me is Rob's chamfering. Every corner identical and detail perfect. The big inside corner looks ground (no swirlies), but how did he get that under the wheel? Was it done on a shaper?
Mine's a table vice. It's for long parts sitting directly on the mill table.
I like your forge Darren. I think I just may copy it. It's small enough so as to not take up a lot of room.

Mike.
Mike,
John was referring to the cleanliness of your shop. It's immaculate, like a hospital operating theater.
Ed
Gotcha, I guess the "theatre" part threw me.
I like a clean workshop, guilty as charged. A clean shop is a happy shop, plus I just can't seem to function well in clutter, but trust me it is not operating room clean that is for sure.
Mike.

Just wondering what did you use to cut the slots in 'holding arms'?

Hi Dave
This is the material used for the clamp bars , a bit 3Omm thick boiler plate .
The slots were done like so ,
All manual machined ,no DRO,s
And the clamps slide a dream .
Cheers Rob

A bit fly cutter action
A wee adjustable one .
A wee test drive .
A few smaller arbours for 1 and 1 1/4 cutters .
The TTA was made by yours truly
Good idea this thread ,,,,,,,,,,,saves doing build logs lol .
Cheers Rob
PS as an armature home shop machinist I am interested to see what the professional boys bring to this thread

Mike.
