You old guys sure have some strange desires!

Just wait, you'll turn into an "old guy" in due time. Rotfl
We are definitely an odd lot. Big Grin

Well I guess I've reached that point as I have two replacement parts, thumb and knee joints.

So how is that Leitz working out for you Tom?

I'm wishing now that I would have bought a transit instead of the laser level that I did. The idea of being able to map out the ground by myself appealed to me, but then I found out what a pain they are to use outside in daylight to get an actual measurement other than just 'high' or 'low'. I should have done more research. Slaphead

Picked up a saw today to take down the giant oak tree in my back yard. It's a Stihl MS-661 with a 36" bar. I also got a 42" bar and some ripping chain to quater it into manageable sized pieces. My goal is to get a few bookmatched slabs out of it and mill the rest into 4/4 boards. One estimate I had said there was about 4000 board foot of lumber in the main trunk.  Yikes

Always an adventure.

I foresee a few extra-long T-27 Torx drivers in your future.  Big Grin
Thats an impressive chunk of saw Tom. You'll want to eat your Wheaties before grabbing that.
Are you going to build an alaskan mill to cut the lumber?
I am considering sawing some of it up on site, but won't be building the fixture. We are in the process of moving out and the shop is in limbo. Looks like we do have until the end of January to be out, so there is time to play around with it as long as the weather holds.

"X-tra long T-27 Torx drivers". 😛
