Fly press? Super awesome! I thought they usually had a bigger throat, though...
A fly press was just an idea/possible substitute for a kick press. The kick press is what I was really looking for. I pretty much gave up on the idea of a fly press when the only ones I could find around here were over $1000. This one was $230.

Vinny, what sort of force can that kick press generate?

I have a corner notcher that works on the same principal, and doing more than one or two 2" corners gets old VERY quickly !
It has two positions for the motion and force. The position it's in now has less motion but more force. The spec for the short stroke is 2.5 tons. It's a Model 10. The specs are at the bottom of page 4: http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/1416/6583.pdf
