Been there done that Ed. I've lost nails like that. It's no fun when the new nail is pushing the old one out of the way. Yours does not look that bad but the pain is the same. As Ken said it takes a long time to go away. Hope you get better soon.

Today I finished a project for my 9X20 lathe. The original hand Wheel is too small for my big paws on these lathes. They are only 1.750" in diameter. I had to make a gear box to move the handle 1.500" to the right and up 1.000" to accommodate the modified Hand Wheel of 2.760" in diameter. Works great and is solid as a rock.

still working on this little project that I started last fall, been putting some tung oil on the wood.
hope to get started on the metal finishing before too long.
